2012 - Semester 1 Classes

These are 2 hr classes from 7.00 -9.00pm on the designated evening over a 16 week semester. There will be a mid-semester break from 30th March - 13th April.

No classes are held on public holidays.

Teaching Focus:

Is to develop practical communication skills. Grammatical concepts are introduced where appropriate to the topic. Exploration of aspects of the culture of each language is an integral part of course study. Teachers are responsive to thestudents' particular needs and purpose for studying the language.

Assessment:

Certificates are issued based on attendance and / or level reached. These are optional and as requested by the student.

Cost: (includes GST & based on a min. of 8 students)

Adults $470 ($14.69 per hour)
Students (Tertiary) $440 ($13.75 per hour)
Students (Secondary) $440 ($13.75 per hour)

VCE Conversation

These are 1 hr classes for students doing Units 3 and 4 LOTE from 5.30 to 6.30 pm on the designated afternoon for 10 weeks. There will be a mind-semester break from 30th March - 13th April. No classes are held on public holidays.

Teaching Focus

Will be increasing oral confidence and fluency using pair, small group and whole class activities. Attention will be given to pronounciation and intonation, appropriatge register of language and expression. some tasks similar to the oral outcomes in VCE Units 3- 4 will be practised and extended with the requirements of the VCE Oral Exam in mind. course material will be supplied in class.

Cost: 10 x 1 hr, $170

These are 1 hr classes for students doing Units 1 and 2 LOTE from 4.30 to 5.30 pm on the designated afternoon for 10 weeks. There will be a mind-semester break from 30th March - 13th April. No classes are held on public holidays.

Teaching Focus

Will be on maintaining and increasing oral confidence and fluency using pair, small group and whole class activities with a native speaker teacher of the language. Attention will be given to pronounciation and intonation, appropriate register of language and expression. Vocabulary and grammar will also be revised where appropriate.
