Amadeus String Orchestra / Intermediate Orchestra

Venue: Keith Humble Auditorium (KHA)

This orchestra mainly caters for boys in Year 9 and 10 who play the violin, viola, cello and double bass. In Semester One, the orchestra is joined by invited woodwind, brass, percussion and additional string players to form the Intermediate Orchestra which performs at the Autumn Concert. In Semester Two, the group reverts to strings only.

Typically Amadeus String Orchestra includes approximately 20 - 30 musicians while the Intermediate Orchestra includes approximately 45 – 55 students.

Admission is by invitation or requested audition.

Major performances* include:

• Autumn Concert
• Summer Proms Concert
• Scotch Strings Concert
• Bi-annual workshops with PLC

*In addition there will be other performances where such opportunity arises. These may include school assemblies or performances in the wider community.
