Centrepiece of a Master Plan

In the decade following the adoption of the 1987 Master Plan, Scotch College invested over $30 million in a program of campus enhancement, including seven new or upgraded buildings and sports fields. All of this has been achieved through the generosity of the Scotch Family. There have been no borrowings, and tuition fees have not included a component for building development.

The decade ahead will be an equally vital period, requiring a further $30 million to maintain Scotch at the forefront of Australian and international primary and secondary education. The new Master Plan envisages:

• Facilities for Design and Technology
• Expansion and upgrade of the Glenn Centre for Physical Education
• A third Quadrangle (which may include a new department of visual arts and a centre for environmental sciences)
• Renovation and redevelopment of the Boarding Precinct
• Redevelopment of the Morrison Street Precinct (to include a formal entrance and pedestrian plaza)

However, the immediate focus is on new facilities for the teaching and performance of music, drama and communication skills in both the Senior and Junior Schools through The James Forbes Academy.
