Marriage Re-Dedication Service and Dinner

Married and still in love? Married and want to re-commit?

Married in the Littlejohn Chapel but not been back since?

Keith and Majorie Wilson

A Service of Marriage Re-Dedication will be conducted in the Littlejohn Memorial Chapel on Friday 28 November at 6.30 pm.

This will be followed by Dinner in the Cardinal Pavilion at 7.15 for 7.30 pm. The Guest Speaker will be comedian Howard Langmead. Howard, who has been featured in the Melbourne Comedy Festival, has the distinction of being an ordained clergyman. You can be sure his after dinner talk will be a treat.

Think for a moment about Keith ('26) and Marjorie Wilson who participated seven years ago in the last rededication service. Then 180 people joined in a simple but elegant service followed by a rather more boisterous time of fellowship over a delightful dinner!

Keith married his sweetheart Marjorie on 6 November 1936 (see photo above), just a few weeks after the opening of the Littlejohn Memorial Chapel. By the time of our November service of Rededication we anticipate they will have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary (DV).

This long and dynamic marriage has seen extraordinary contributions to Scotch. Keith has had distinguished roles with OS Athletics (as a top sprinter - 100 yards in 10.2 sec), Secretary of OSCA for 13 years and President for two, as well as a member of the School Council for 18 years. During these commitments Keith organised the first monthly luncheons and the country dinners. Most particularly, Keith and Marjorie are the parents of Ian ('58), Bruce ('63), Hugh ('65) and Ewen ('71).

Keith and Majorie Wilson

The world is dramatically different from the world in which Keith and Marjorie married. Today we no longer know what DV stands for, and looking it up in an online dictionary only yields DVD! In addition to raising their family, they have lived, worked (and fought) through the depression and WW2. All the indicators suggest that human beings cope best with the ups and downs of life in the loving committed relationship we call marriage.

Don't take your beloved for granted.

You are invited to join us for the service (no cost) and the dinner ($42 per head).

Come together!
Come with your entire wedding party!
