Alexander Morrison was Principal of Scotch College from 1857-1903 and was instrumental in building the School into the leading educational institution that it is today. His vision, energy, financial management and Scottish thrift all combined to make him a remarkable Principal whose legacy we all still enjoy. In 2003 it was decided to name the bequest society after Dr Morrison to perpetuate those qualities of nurturing and vision which were so characteristic of the man.
Any person who indicates that he or she will remember Scotch College through a bequest will automatically become a member of the Alexander Morrison Circle of Giving, regardless of the size of the bequest. Membership of the Circle is free and represents the School's way of recognising the commitment and support from all individuals towards the long-term health and security of Scotch College.
Scotch owes an enormous debt to the forethought and generosity of men and women who have bequeathed funds and other property to the School to assist with its continuing development. Such bequests are reflected in scholarships, endowments, buildings, books, equipment and land, and all such support has assisted the School to help fulfil its purpose and vision.Only with the support of people with a strong commitment to all that Scotch College stands for will the School retain its pre-eminence across Australia and be able to attract a diverse range of students and the dedicated staff essential to excite and challenge those students.
