Fun filled Family Day President’s Column

 

Family Day was held on a beautiful spring day which saw all the boys in the school participate in a range of activities.

As we re-focus after the holidays in anticipation of a busy final Term, the happy, relaxed atmosphere of Family Day was a wonderful whole School event. Congratulations to all who achieved individual success and to all boys who competed enthusiastically for their house or form. Supporting the boys were parents cheering them on and many working tirelessly on Auxiliary activities. The unveiling of the Mother and Son bronze statue, which came to fruition through the foresight and generosity of Old Scotch Collegians, Mr Jim Beattie and Mr Jim Derham, exemplified the connection of the Scotch community that spreads across generations.

As the school year heads towards its conclusion, our thoughts turn to the Year 12 boys preparing for their final VCE exams. We wish them every success and happiness, as they embark on a range of new and exciting opportunities that await them. For some, it is the end of many years as a Scotch parent and we thank them for the commitment they have made to the school and activities of the Parents’ Association. On behalf of the Scotch Parents’ Association, I would particularly like to thank Peter and Wendy Dawson for all they have contributed on the Executive and in Auxiliary roles. Peter has led the SPA in a thoughtful and inclusive manner and has had wonderful support from Wendy. Our sincere thanks and best wishes to them both.

All parents are welcome to the attend the Annual General Meeting of the SPA to be held in the Boykett Room, Cardinal Pavilion on Monday 17 November at 7.30 pm. Fiona Seabridge, Director of LAPG Education will address the meeting on the topic Food Glorious Smart Food – the SPA, LAPG and hungry Scotch boys.
