The wide range of events at Scotch The calendar of events at Scotch is very extensive and diverse spanning curriculum, sport, music, services, fundraising, OSCA and Foundation, SPA Year Level and Auxiliary activities and other social events.
Kate Paterson, Scotch Events and Functions Manager, provides assistance where needed, to the SPA, Year Level Representatives, Clubs and Auxiliaries who arrange numerous ‘events’ annually, some of which are held at Scotch.
SPA events include parent functions such as cocktail parties, dinners, barbecues and meetings in addition to their other support activities for School events such as breakfasts and canteen for the boys involved in sports, working bees in Q Store, Swap Shop and Lost Property to name a few.
Kate told us that “Year 12 students also organise barbecues on behalf of their Houses and year, including the Bushfire Appeal barbecue in February this year which was a major event for the Class of 2009. With this type of event in mind, we encourage Year 11 students to do a food handling course and this year more than 40 senior students have completed a basic food hand handling qualification.” This course is also available to Scotch parents involved in food preparation for their events (see page 2 for August course details).
Please enjoy and support the ‘Events at Scotch’.
