The Montgomery Club was formed in 2005 to support Hockey at Scotch. Its name recognises Bob Montgomery who in 1922 donated funds for the formation of the Montgomery Sports Field.

Tea and coffee at Home games: Hockey is played on Saturday mornings at the Montgomery hockey pitch and the Junior School Oval.
The Club supplies Tea and Coffee facilities for Scotch and visiting supporters, at each home game. 1sts Training Squad breakfasts:
Pre-season training is often before school and the Club helps supply a healthy breakfast in preparation for the school day.
Welcome Barbecue: At the beginning of the season we hold a barbecue particularly aimed at welcoming new players and their families. We encourage the parents to watch their son’s play, stay to support the Scotch 1sts match and meet other hockey families within their own and across other year levels. Awards night: The Club helps organise the annual Years 9-12 Awards evening. Family and friends listen to the boys wrap up the season, present recognition awards, and raffle prizes over dinner. In recent years, the event has been held at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club. Year 7 and 8 boys hold their Awards event after school during the week. Family Day: The Club runs an information stall and drinks stall.
Film Night: This is one of few fundraising events during the term as we try to focus activities around the hockey games. Photos: Video and photos are taken by parents from all teams and are presented back to the boys in various forms: DVD, placemats and an audiovisual presentation at the Awards Night, and via the website. Funding: Funds raised subsidise tea and coffee facilities, training squad breakfasts and have provided financial support for a player to tour overseas.
Tours: A Hockey development squad of around 20 boys toured New Zealand in 2003 and 2007, India in 2005 and a tour to Argentina will be undertaken in 2009. Scotch has hosted international tours from Canada, England and New Zealand as well as Interstate teams. The Club helps with billeting and supporting coaches and teachers in the organisation of these tour events.
Come to your son’s hockey games on Saturdays and meet other Hockey families. It’s more fun than just dropping him off. Help out at one of the major events. We always need photographers, helpers for the tea and coffee, table decorators, ticket sellers. Come to meetings: Club meetings are over wine and cheese and provide the opportunity to contribute your ideas for Scotch Hockey.
