Making a difference

Each year the Junior School selects a theme to underpin all it presents throughout the course of the year. This year the boys of the Junior School have been challenged to think about how they can make a difference to themselves, their family, their class, their School, and the local and broader community.

With funds required for the Kapumfi project almost achieved, the challenge has been set to see how we can continue to make a difference to the Zambian children who will soon enjoy their new school. It may be that some boys, along with their families, will choose to sponsor a child from the Kapumfi region, and in doing so will have the chance to make a real and ongoing difference. We are working closely with World Vision to make this a reality.

Looking to make a difference outside of the School is an important facet for us to continue to develop – but importantly, making a difference at home and School must also remain as high priorities.

In focusing on the School environment, opportunities for leadership are presented each year, and these provide some boys with the chance to make a real difference at School.

On Friday 3 February the Principal presented badges of office to the following boys, selected as Junior School leaders for 2006:

In recognising and congratulating these boys as leaders for 2006, all Junior School boys will continue to be challenged with: ‘What difference are YOU going to make this year?’
