Or, the relevance of quid pro quo
If you ever thought Latin was a dead language and unlikely to be of value to you, read on. The Latin scholars out there will know that quid pro quo actually means ‘something for something’, ‘this for that’ or, in layman’s terms, ‘you do something for me and I’ll do something for you’ – perhaps more colloquially ‘scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours’.
With OSCA members in mind a series of mutually beneficial relationships have been entered into with organizations prepared to provide particularly advantageous deals - both for you and for the on-going work of OSCA. The latest of these is with the National Australia Bank. Each of the OSCA sponsor relationships represents a direct quid pro quo benefit. These are ‘win-win’ arrangements with direct benefits for all Old Boys.
The benefit to you is in the genuine discounts offered – off published rates – by each of these supporting companies.
OSCA as an organisation benefits from an agreed matching injection of funds from these companies for any Old Scotch Collegian who makes use of their services. These funds improve OSCA’s ability to provide help to the Scotch Family in times of challenge
In selecting and approaching sponsors OSCA has focused on some of the important times and important needs of both younger and older Scotch Old Boys – through access to real-estate services and home loans, to professional guidance covering some of life’s critical areas – financial, investment, legal and retirement planning. Stillwell Motor Group can handle your motoring needs from a sprightly Mini to a top of the range BMW and Pulse Pharmacy group will look after your pharmacy requirements.
