Applications will be sought in the new year for cast members of the exciting Old Scotch Collegians’ production of Les Miserables, to be staged next October. Auditions will be held in April.
The seven performances of Les Miserables will be staged between 9 and 18 October 2008, with all performances in the James Forbes Academy’s magnificent Geoffrey McComas Theatre.
The production will draw on the interest and resources in the Scotch Family’s wide network – former students, some current students and families. However, as this is an open audition, production members of the broader amateur theatrical community will also be encouraged to audition. This will ensure that the cast, while remaining amateur, is of the highest possible quality.
We are delighted to have secured the services of Alan Burrows as director of our production. Alan is one of Melbourne’s most experienced directors of amateur musicals, and winner of the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria’s ‘director of the year’ award.
Alan joins John Ferguson as Musical Director. John Colvin will be supporting the production in a technical sense, ensuring that this will indeed be a remarkable production – one which will fully and expertly harness the professional facilities of the JFA.Scotch College: ABN 86 852 826 445 ACN 005 650 395 CRICOS 00624A (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students)
