Sally Steele & Dr Alan Watkinson
In November 2006, past parents Barry and Anita Pang in association with future parents Richard Thompson (’85) and Anita Archer, and current parents Robert and Kathy Littlewood presented the second Scotch College Fine Art Exhibition and Auction.
In 2004 the inaugural exhibition was held in the Hawthorn Town Hall, but in 2006 the show returned to Scotch, and was held in the Cardinal Pavilion. It looked splendid, complete with newly acquired display screens and lighting.
Running over three days, the exhibition attracted many visitors from within the School, and also from around Melbourne, as the quality of works exhibited was of such a high standard.
It was a great delight to see a number of return visitors and investors from the previous exhibition supporting Scotch again, and buying high-quality art for both investment and pleasure. Sally Steele was one of the return visitors and is pictured left with Dr Alan Watkinson and her new artwork. The sales and auction part of the exhibition raised almost $40,000 for the Ken Field Fund for the Arts, and we were most grateful to Anita Archer for her expert handling of the auction process.
The biennial Exhibition and Auction has now become a part of Scotch College Foundation activities, and will continue to alternate with the ever-popular Ken Field Art Show.Scotch College: ABN 86 852 826 445 ACN 005 650 395 CRICOS 00624A (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students)
