Do you hear the people sing? You will in October 2008
The competition of the Beijing Olympics will be over and all medals will have been awarded. The footy season will have finished and the premiership won. Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival will be just around the corner. So, what better time than October 2008 to see the OSCA Music Club production of the popular and exciting musical drama Les Misérables. The James Forbes Academy theatre stage will be atmospherically transformed into the boulevards of 19th century Paris for seven stirring performances. Currently in the early planning stages, this production will draw on the undoubted musical talents and dramatic professionalism of the Scotch Family and others in the broader community. There are stars among us so put these dates in your diary for next year: 9–18 October 2008.
Richard Beveridge (’62) will produce the show and Director of Music John Ferguson will be Musical Director. Ed Tudor (’03) is the show’s Administration Manager. We are looking for a Director so if you have experience and are interested please contact Richard Beveridge on 0414 413 013.
An information night was held at Scotch College on Thursday 9 August where 20 prospective cast members, musicians, backstage and front-of-house members learnt that the show plans to be staged in the Geoffrey McComas Theatre, James Forbes Academy, at Scotch College from Thursday 9 October 2008 until Saturday 18 October 2008.
