WORDS: Ms Libby Moore
The local member for Kooyong, Josh Frydenberg MP (pictured above right), hosted a volunteers’ breakfast for residents who had worked overseas in community projects.
Among the guests were six Scotch students accompanied by Mrs Libby Moore and her daughter Madeleine, who travelled to Cambodia in June 2010 to build a house with the Habitat for Humanity organisation. Mr Frydenberg thanked the boys individually for their work, and presented each with a certificate of thanks from the Australian government.
The City of Boroondara Mayor Cr Nick Tragas visited Scotch in June in acknowledgement and encouragement of the school’s community works. He is pictured above with Principal Tom Batty and Year 12 Students Jeremy Kong and Anthony Antoniadis, two students who have been vitally involved with the Servants Community Housing Anthology: stories of respect, dignity & hope booklaunch. More can be read about this on page 35 of this edition of Great Scot.
