The first annual Classic and Sportscar display on the Monash Drive on Family Day went extremely well. With over thirty cars of all makes and types, it was a display enjoyed by all who attended. A few Old Boys spared some time to come along, including John Beaurepaire with his 1926 Rolls Royce, Warwick Anderson with his Lamborghini Miura. John Batkin brought an MG Y-Type racing car from his collection, which was of great interest and Peter Jackson with his MG B Mk II and MG TC. Other Old Boys who also displayed their cars included Euan Macdonald (Silverstone Jaguar), Michael Stillwell (Bib Stillwell BMW), James Dutton (Dutton's), Andrew Carnegie, Nick Armstrong and Richard Bowen.
I would also like to thank the MG Car Club (who brought three cars) and all the other people who are not affiliated to Scotch College, who spared their Saturday to display their cars. The display took six weeks to put together and I'm hoping that we will have a lot more interest coming from both the interest on Family Day and the advertising in Great Scot. I would also like to take this chance to thank my father Simon ('68) for helping prior and on the day. If you wish to find out more about next year's display then you're most welcome to give me a call.
