Last month, Senator Ellison, the Minister for Schools, Vocational and Training announced the winners of the Australian Students Prize for 1997.
These are awarded each year on the basis of outstanding Year 12 results and receive $2000 from the Commonwealth Government. One hundred and thirty six Victorian students were recognised for academic excellence from the 42 000 VCE candidates. Eight of these were Scotch College students from the Class of 97.
