The 71st Annual General meeting of the Old Scotch Collegians’ Association was held in the magnificent Ian Roach Hall on Tuesday 8 November. President Bob Welch chaired the meeting and reviewed the active year that the Association had just witnessed and presented a very sound financial result.
An election was held (the first for some time) and the new Council for 2006 was installed. Ed Tudor (’04) joins the Council as an individually elected Old Boy, as does Cameron Malingbrough (‘82). Ed is currently studying at Melbourne University while Cameron is a Senior Investment Adviser in the Retail sector at Goldman Sachs JB Were.
The Association is indeed fortunate to acquire the skills and attributes that these two Old Boys bring to the table.
The President’s Dinner, held in the Theatre Foyer of the James Forbes Academy, was an outstanding success. New President Andrew Wallace-Smith welcomed a number of Past OSCA Presidents. A portrait of Neil Roberts by Old Boy Andrew Forsythe (’84) was unveiled in recognition of Neil’s 20 years of service to the School as Bursar.
A new portrait of Mick Eggleston was also unveiled on the night. The new portrait will hang in the Memorial Hall, and Nell Eggleston (Mick’s widow) has been presented with the original picture. Sax@Scotch performed on the night and were positively received. All in all a wonderful night was had by all.
