1.35pm Ewen MacDonald Memorial 800m Handicap

Conducted by the Old Scotch Athletics Club, and open to its members and any Old Scotch Collegian, this race has been held annually since 1975 with the exception of a washout in1992. Now named in memory of Ewen Macdonald, a Scotch and Old Scotch athlete, this race is a real test for competitors of all ages.

1.45pm Scotch Quarter – Invitational 400m

Designed to attract our very best athletes, the Scotch Quarter is a handicap event over 400 metres. It is a test of speed and endurance as the scratch marker attempts to chase down the pack. The action heats up in the final straight as boys battle both mental and physical fatigue for their chance for glory.

1.55pm Scotch Flyer – Invitational 100m

The Scotch Flyer is the feature event of Family Day. Introduced by Don Davenport in the 1990s, this race stops the school and finishes with a customary photo finish. It is a handicap event and allows boys of different age groups to compete against each other.

Parking is limited on Family Day, and the best parking availability is along Glenferrie Road. The Monash Drive gates will be closed to vehicles, however they will be open for pedestrian access.

Other parking options include:

  • Boatshed gravel parking
  • Roadside parking along Morrison Street
  • Staff carpark on Morrison Street
  • Parking in surrounding streets (restrictions apply)
  • Junior School Oval via Gate 4 (near the corner of Fordholm and Callantina Roads)
