First Nations Scholarships

First Nations Scholarships are awarded to boys of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage at various levels of entry to the Senior School. They provide exceptional educational opportunities for Indigenous/First Nations students who have the potential to lead within their community.

Scholarships are available for day or boarding students who will embrace the opportunities that Scotch offers. We look for applicants who are passionate members of their community, are involved in extra-curricular activities, have leadership potential and are committed to academic improvement.

First Nations Scholarships, valued up to 100% of tuition and boarding (if applicable) fees, cover tuition, boarding (if applicable) fees, uniforms, camps and extra-curricular activities. Should families exceed the household income threshold, parents or guardians may be required to contribute a small amount towards tuition fees each year.

Scotch College provides a welcoming and supportive environment for our extended community of First Nations students from all over Australia. Students are assisted with transition to school life and throughout their time at Scotch.

Scotch College staff will also assist recipients connect with the local First Nations community, who welcome our students at various cultural and social events.

As part of the selection process, applicants are required to complete an application form, provide latest school reports and any letters of recommendation, and have an interview with the Director of First Nations Program (or delegate). Interviews are held both in person and via video conference, depending on the applicant’s location. Other supporting documentation or testing/academic results may be required.
